Bicester 6 - 2 Ashford 2s (Dave Delamore-Sutcliffe 3, Will Hartley 2, Jordan Chester)
Bicester produced a dominant performance against Ashford 2s to pick up another 3 points and continue their promotion push in MBBO Division 1.
Dave Sutcliffe opened the scoring after ten minutes, following a short corner which broke down and eventually found its way to him a few yards out. Bicester then continued to press as Dan Round and Andy Brown distributed the ball well from the back. Will Hartley then doubled the lead after a firm ball from Jeffrey Elliott was deflected towards goal by Adam Drewitt, leaving Hartley with a difficult finish above his head which he duly provided. Ashford upped the tempo with a few minutes to go in the first half but couldn't make that pressure tell, despite a well taken short corner at the close of the half.
Bicester started the second half well and soon had a third after some delightful play by Sutcliffe and the outstanding Will Hartley gave the teenager a one-on-one opportunity which he finished well. Ashford then got a goal back before Bicester increased the lead back up to three when they won a short corner which the superb Jordan Chester put away via a deflection. Chester was soon at it again as a brilliant piercing drive down the left hand side, and a brilliant ball accross the face of the goal was well finished by Sutcliffe on the deflection. All this time Leo Graves and Ian Oak were dominating the midfield battle and eventually the pressure told when Sutcliffe got his hat-trick after when a superb ball from Jeff Elliott in midfield found Sutcliffe on the baseline where he finished superbly on a tight angle. Ashford got an excellent goal back with time still to go but Bicester were able to close it out and secure another three points at home as they continue to push for promotion.
Will Hartley and Jordan Chester won the first dual man of the match with superb performances from both.
