Bicester U8's took 2 teams to the Oxford 'Super 7s' Festival. Both teams performing very well, the black team winning their first 3 games 1-0, 3-1 and 4-0 they were the dominant side in all their games showing good skill and team work throughout the team as shown by the fact that they had 4 different goal scorers across the games, Jake Bell scoring the lone goal against Hawks A. Then Starting the scoring with the first in the 2nd game against Banbury B. Followed by a goal from Zara Barrow and Harry Sames scoring his first goal in a competitive game to make it 3 with Banbury breaking away for their goal when Bicester pressed for a 4th goal. The 3rd game against Wallingford saw Bicester add Luke Whitmore to the list of scorers when he scored the first 2 goals and Harry Sames decided he enjoyed scoring and scored 2 more. The last game against Oxford was a tight game but Bicester were again the dominant side and unlucky not to score at least 1.
The Green team were equally dominant in their games but not as lucky in front of goal. In the first 3 games against Banbury A, Oxford C and Wallingford D they had chances to score that either got stopped on the line or just missed the Very Narrow goals. Also because they did most of the attacking the opposition had naturally packed out the scoring zone. In the last game against Hawks C the Greens got what they deserved Finlay Strange scored the first goal after a very good run down the left on the reverse stick then cutting across and pushing the ball into the goal at the 2nd attempt. The 2nd goal was a melee in the D and the scorer according to the players was a Hawks player. I wait to be corrected.
