Bicester Ladies 3 V Wychwood Ladies 2s
3-6 loss ?
Bicester Ladies 3s hosted the first league game of the season today in beautiful sunshine!
The game started well and Bicester soon took the lead with an awesome goal by Sam!
Wychwood slowly came into the game and both teams made chances, working the defence. Eventually Wychwood snuck a goal in to equalise.
Bicester did not take the goal lying down and within a couple of minutes responded through Charlotte who finished with style, picking her spot brilliantly!
Wychwood continued to fight back and managed to squeeze a 3rd goal in, from a short corner, just before half time.
The half time score was 2-3 to Wychwood.
Bicester started the second half determined the game was still very evenly matched and that they could get back into it. A few positional changes, mostly by Chloe who worked her way around the pitch, kept Bicester making opportunities. Steph did a fab job or running around in the middle of the pitch to confuse the opposition. Liv was strong on the left, getting the ball into the attacking third time after time!
However, as the second half continued, Bicester’s lack of available subs made the difference. The game became quite stretched and some errors crept in allowing Wychwood to take advantage and score a further 3 goals. But even at 2-6 down, Bicester continued to give it everything!
Eventually the positive attitude and determination to get back into it paid off when Sam scored a second goal to take the final score to 3-6!
Although disappointing to not get the win and a rather flattering score line for the opposition, Bicester came off the pitch feeling positive that opportunities were made and recognising how the team will develop and establish themselves as the season progresses! A super effort by all players - young and old…er!
Onwards and upwards! Next week the ladies play away at Aylesbury for the second league game!
