Bicester produced one of their best performances of the season against promotion chasing West Hampstead. On a dry pitch, which made it difficult to move the ball at pace, the home side had the best of the early exchanges, creating a number of scoring opportunities. Chris Bloxham and Dave Marsden-Jones were particularly dangerous on the flanks, and their pressure eventually resulted in a penalty corner, which was converted from close range by Bloxham after Nick Styles shot was only parried by the visiting keeper.
The visitors however hit back almost immediately, and a powerful run and strike levelled the scores at half time. Both sides created chances to win the game in the second half, but despite both teams hitting the post, the score remained one all. The visitors celebrated promotion to division 5 of the MBBO, but results elsewhere mean that Bicester need a point from their final game next week to avoid relegation.
