After last weeks frustration and with a motley selection of socks, Bicester headed off to take on South Berks and showed they were back on form. Missing a few players, some of the 2's stepped up and made it look like they had been playing together all year.
The game started strong with Bicester dominating play and after some scuffling, a well-timed pass from Sheryl allowed Irish to dink the ball into the net. Not long after, Sheryl decided she needed her name on the score sheet as well and after a great one-two with Lorraine, took on the goalie and cracked the ball into the back corner.
The midfields were on form today with excellent positioning and great distribution from Beth and Nicky. Abbie kept battling and provided some excellent long passes into the D which the forwards were unlucky not to score.
After half time, South Berks fought back and put pressure on the defensive line. Hollie saved a great shot off the line and Hannah decided she was bored of defending, taking the ball the length of the pitch on a little jog.
Further pressure from Bicester saw some short corners awarded and a rebound shot was lept on by Olah who slotted it onto the backboard. The final whistle blew and Bicester celebrated their first win of the season with a convincing 3-0 score line.
Overall, today saw all the girls link well together with positive communication and encouragement all round, showing lots of promise for the season ahead.
Final score: South Berks 0 - 3 Bicester
