A hard fought encounter with Sonnings ends with a tight win for Bicester
Bicester got back to winning ways in a hard fought game against Sonning 2s at The Cooper School on Saturday.
In a frenetic first half, Bicester took the lead after some incisive play from Adam Buxey saw him find Jonny Reid on the penalty spot and his reverse flick trickled over the line to give Bicester the lead.
Sonning came back strongly and had a number of chances which were well dealt with by Nathan Elliott in the Bicester goal and his defense.
At the start of the second half, Sonning came out of the traps and soon had an equaliser with a well worked move down the right hand side leading to a neat deflection into the goal.
It didn't take long however for Bicester to restore their lead as Ben Kirk scored from a well-worked short corner with a neat finish.
The game continued to be played at a high tempo, whilst lacking in lots of clear cut chances and Bicester managed to close out the game and take all three points.
