Bicester finish first half of season with solid win

A 3-1 victory over a depleted Ramgharia side moves Bicester up to 3rd
Bicester 3 - 1 Ramgharia
Bicester finished off the first half of the season with a solid, stodgy, 3-1 win against a skilful Ramgharia side on Saturday.
Will Hartley opened the scoring after Bicester had peppered the Ramgharia goal, as they would do throughout the match. A fine move down the left saw David Delamore-Sutcliffe released in the D, and his firm cross was deftly deflected by Hartley whose movement all day was excellent up front.
Ramgharia then got back into the match after a defensive mix-up allowed the South League's all time top scorer Prabjot Hunjan, to round Nathan Elliott and finish past CJ Birtles on the line.
After the half-time break, Bicester continued to press and eventually David Delamore-Sutcliffe got the breakthrough after some good work down the right from the ever solid Daniel Round. Round's ball found Jordan Chester in the D and his cross gave Sutcliffe a chance to hit home on his reverse.
Ramgharia continue to threaten and Round, Stu Goodacre and CJ Birtles defended stoutly and Elliott continued to guard his goal well, as he has done all season. Bicester confirmed the win however from a short-corner which eventually found its way past an outstanding Ramgharia goalkeeper. Ben Kirk's flick snuck under the body of the keeper and Adam Drewitt was first on hand to tap the ball in.
Overall it was a solid performance from Bicester who move up to 3rd in the league, with promotion still in sight if they have strong remainder of the season.
James Webb won the man of the match after another industrious performance, in what was his last game for Bicester. We wish him well as he heads back to South Africa and warmer climes!
Man of the Match: James Webb (lion mask)
