U14 Girls lost 0-3 to Oxford A, but put up a fantastic, battling performance against a strong Oxford 'A' team (with 3 subs). Quarter results were: 0-2 / 0-1 / 0-0 / 0-0. So a 0-0 draw in the second half!
An inexperienced Bicester U14 Girls team put on a brave performance against a much more experienced Oxford 'A' team. For the first half Bicester faced wave after wave of Oxford attack, ultimately conceding 3 goals. After half time the girls started to gel as a team, building up there own attacks and spending more and more time in the Oxford half, as the game progressed.
The girls kept working hard for each other until the final whistle - winning 3 or 4 Short Corners in the second half, as well as a few open play near misses. We set ourselves the target of scoring a goal in the final quarter, and came ever so close...
Special mention to 'man' of the match (as voted for by Oxford) William Howells for being in goal. Also to Tia Falkner for her first match for Bicester, having joined this season!
Congratulations also to Georgia Mann for being Captain, and voted by the girls to keep the role for their next match!
Bring on Oxford 'B' on the 27th November...
