UPDATE: To inspire all the players on Sunday we have got a short video link for them to go to which is a message of encouragement from Kate and Helen Richardson Walsh. They were amazed at the number of teams playing over one day:

Hawks have requested that we "please try and encourage parents not to park in Hawks except perhaps for coaches and those with goalie kit"

The aim of this Festival is fun, competitive hockey for all. We will aim to keep a running score for each league to keep a competitive edge. Each team gets 4 games of hockey. There are medals for all players which will be presented at the end of each age groups session.

Timings
1500 arrival for matches from 1530 to 1750

Car Parking
Hawks will have limited car parking on the day so please try the alternative car parks first. Cutteslowe car park at the end of Harbord road is a pay and display park now.
It is £1.30 for two hours or £2.50 for 3 hours or longer. There is no parking on Harbord Road now. There is also car parking at Jordon Hill Business Park which is just across the road from Hawks. There is plenty of car parking here either on the estate road or in the OUP sports car park and it is free and only a short distance from Hawks with a pedestrian crossing over the Banbury Road.

Refreshments
There will be refreshments provided throughout the day at the pitch side kiosk and in the club house. This will include a BBQ with bacon sandwiches…etc

Raffle
We are also going to be running a charity raffle to raise money for the disabled hockey coaching which we have been doing this year. We will an provide an update on how this has been going. We are running a separate raffle for each age group with prizes including a range of hockey sticks, bags and other kit which we have been kindly donated by Kookaburra and others …please ensure parents and players come with a bit of spending money! The raffle will be drawn at the end of each age group.

Safeguarding
Due to the incident in Summertown the other week we ask coaches and parents to ensure that players are all kept together and handed onto parents safely at the end of the event.

And on a brighter note it looks like the forecast is for the weather to stay fair until next weekend so fingers crossed!!!
