Bicester Ladies 3s 0 vs Amersham & Chalfont Ladies 4s 4

Bicester Ladies 3s, the development side of the ladies squad, put up a valiant effort against Amersham & Chalfont 4s this Saturday. With some players being moved into new positions the team came out and proved that they really are improving. Bicester were put under pressure early, but the defense held strong with only 4 of the Amershams many efforts hitting home. The forwards fought hard and some excellent passing down the field leading to Bicester enjoying a number of opportunities in the D, although not rewarded this time the team knows it's only a matter of time. Dame of the Game was awarded to centre back and team captain Luci Roberts.

Bicester 3s 1 maidenhead 3

After a very early start, and with a (mostly) very young side. Bicester Ladies 3s started their game against Maidenhead in a very positive manner with a great goal from Hayley Beck, and the first half ended with a.   1-1 scoreline.

Bicester, still trying to find the best positions to put our many new players in, struggled to regain the form of the first half and Maidenhead put 2 more to the back of the net.  The disappointing score did not reflect the effort and commitment of the players, and the 3s look forward to many wins in the rest of the season.

Bicester Ladies III 0 vs 0 Amersham & Chalfont IV

Fielding their largest number of junior players to date in a league game; Bicester held fourth placed Amersham and Chalfont to a draw and dented Amersham’s hope’s of challenging for a promotional place before Christmas.

Bicester started the game with some great attacking movements and intelligent passing. Ruth Thomas made several breaks up the left wing and coolly playing the ball into the opposition’s D. Bicester were unlucky on several occasions with Hayley Beck and Amy Olah threatening goals. Amersham counter attacked but were met by solid defending and stand-in goal keeper Rebecca Watts making some great saves.

The second half started well however Amersham began to press for a winning goal. Bicester stepped up their game and worked together brilliantly to seize possession and Grace put in a valiant effort, never giving up on the ball to dispossess Amersham’s attackers. Chloe Ranson was impressive at left-back leaving few options for the Amersham attacks.

The game finished 0-0 and with such a young team playing with so much enthusiasm and relentlessness, Bicester Ladies 3s will be looking to get better and better as the season progresses.

19/9/09 City of Oxford Ladies 4th  1 – 4 Bicester Ladies 3rd /

Bicester ladies 3s opened their league campaign with a potentially tough opening fixture against Oxford City 4s. On a beautiful autumn day, a very young Bicester team opened brightly, and looked to be the better team from the outset. An experienced backline of Julie Giles and Clare Flower protected the young keeper Harriet Reynolds from occasional City attacks. A well taken goal from Becky Garrett settled the nerves and Bicester began to look for a second. It was City of Oxford however who scored next, following good work down their left hand side, caught the Bicester midfield attacking and the defence out numbered. By half time Bicester should have been at least two more goals to the good, but the extremely small City keeper, only just bigger than the pads she was wearing, kept the score to 1-1 until in the second half the heat took it’s toll and tired the city defence; and the younger Bicester side took full advantage adding another three goals as junior players pounced on rebounds that City failed to clear. A great result for this newly promoted side.

12/9/09 Bicester Ladies III 2 vs 4 Banbury Ladies IV

Brilliant game against Banbury 4’s, started off with a great goal from Amy Evans then unfortunately Banbury equalised just before half time. Some fantastic defending in the second half by Chloe and Laura kept Banbury at bay for the first 15 minutes and Sarah Peake scores to put Bicester ahead but Bicester couldn’t hold Banbury who scored three in rapid succession to secure the win. Frustration for Bicester came in the number of scoring opportunities that they had throughout the game but failed to convert.
