This is it the final stats for the Fantasy League.

I suspect because the final games occurred in April they will appear under a separate month heading from the March games but as stated earlier that are added to the March results (and have been every year) for the final manager of the month award. So add up your two scores before cheering your final monthly placement for march.

Trophies and booze will be awarded at the awards night in May.

See you then.

Apologies for the delay in getting the last two sets of results to you (the snow gets everywhere). I will be sending out an e-mail shortly with the quarter final places for the HA cup and to announce the Feb manager of Month.

Congratulations to Fiona for topping the January Manager of Month

Fiona Boyer holds onto the top spot for the bottle of champers but the Italian Rabbit is closing fast. Into the Grey takes top spot in the overall league and John O Sullivan's clean sheet win puts him top of the player league.

The first round of the HA cup was a hard fought contest. Two of the cheap teams (less than 35 stars) made it through to the second round and a number of high flying teams for the week (65+ pts) came up against teams that performed just that little bit better.

Congratulations to SeaBee for topping the December Manager of Month and winning the 2nd Bottle of Champagne that he will provide himself!

Not many fixtures this Saturday so very few results. Unfortunately Jon Roger failed to hold onto Manager of the Month as Circle The Wagons (a very defensive team) leapt into 1st place and won me my first bottle of champagne ever in the fantasy league.

Stuart Goodacre held onto top spot overall but the gap at the top has closed with Into the Grey (sorry me again) rising into second space nudging Luke Collet into third.

Have a good Christmas everybody and spread a little Christmas cheer.

I have informed all your families that you would love a whistle and a set of umpiring cards for Christmas rather than that ipod. See you next year.

Love n kisses

Congratulations to Stuart Goodacre for topping the November Manager of Month and winning the 1st Bottle of Champagne.

Stuart just managed to pip Luke Collett for that top spot.

Players wise there has been a complete reversal of fortune compared to the end of last season with the fellas dominating the top spots. Danny Johnson just about managed to hold off Sandra Satterley to keep top Striker spot. Whilst M1 (Darren Moore) held onto top goalkeeper spot keeping M4 (Adam Giles & Lee Meons) a point away. The goalscoring defenders of Alan Edwards and Andy Foreman ensured them contention for stop spot with Alan taking the honours once more by a point.

The girlies do get a look in in Midfield with new umpire Sarah Blacklock topping the midfield board.
Congratulations to all these players.

There has been a change as you might notice to the league website and you can now set up mini leagues within the main league so why not challenge your friends or team mates in a mini league.

I have also set up a HA cup competition this year for a yet undisclosed (sourced) prize and another David Jackson original trophy.

It is a straightforward knock out competition with all the drama of the real HA cup but without the need to raise a team to go to the other end of the country on a Sunday morning. Teams are drawn randomly using a sequence gererator (I was not buying 128 ping pong balls). As there were 98 team entered the balance to 128 was made up with byes. The team on the "Cup Round day" scoring the higher number of points progresses to the next round. In the event of a draw the team scoring the most points in Goalkeeping goes through. If this is a draw then Defence points are considered, then Midfield and finally Strikers. If still a draw then a coin flip decides who goes through.

The first round is on the 24th Jan (first week when all teams are playing) and the draw is below (your captainds also have a draw list):-

ROUND 1 24th January 2009

Good luck everybody. Another bottle of champers is up for grabs for December an this is a short month with only two weeks of qualifying games.
